Last week I decided to kick it up a notch and try to do character design along with an illustration that included the design. This weeks personal challenge was Joan of Arch, it took the whole week, and some ( I don't have much free time), but I got it done. I'm going to try and do this every week, but I'm sure sometimes it will take two or even three weeks to finish. I hope you enjoy.

My process for choosing a character is a little random. Joan of Arch was Lori's idea. I'm trying to find characters that everyone is familiar with, but that don't already have a specific look. For instance I was thinking on doing Don Quixote, but I can't really make a strong or fat Don, he must be skinny so that idea had to be scrapped. Joan of Arch's look on the other hand, really depends on who you talk to. Some people think she was crazy and some think she was a saint, so there is a lot of room to explore.
