More pastels with friends

I headed out with a bunch of friends again this weekend to do some plein air painting. As before I'm still trying to figure out where I want to go with these paintings. I have added the links of those who headed out and have blogs below.

I like how you use pastels and I love your rolling hills. Great character sketches too. It's funny you use the term 'pastel pushing' because my friend Sergio Martinez (I notice you linked him) always says that he is a humble pencil pusher.

I know an illustrator who works in pastels. Have you heard of Joel Spector?

I'll be back.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Tom-
I had never seen Joel's work, but I googled him and he has a lot of great stuff, amazing color use and I love the impressionistic feel. Thanks for the reference and thanks for stopping by.

Noah, that second pastel is just great! and I'd say a terrific and successful example of what we were talking about!!

Brilliant contrasts, flares and very appealling proportions;

and the edges look great too.

Excellent work as usual! There's definitely a lot of energy and motion in these pieces.
