More Pastels

I did these pastels a few weeks ago and decided to post them. I want to show the fun work I have been doing on my book, but I'm just trying to get it done right now, I will show a bunch of that work sometime soon.

I hope you enjoy.

Wow, glad I found your blog. Beautiful pastels and great designs! I've never tried working with pastels, but always loved the look of it, so maybe I should give it a try. Is there any specific kind or brand that's better than others?

Thanks for sharing and good luck with the childrens book:)

P.S. Get Nelson Bohol to start a blog:D

Dreamy places.
I was wondering if you know the group of Italian painters called Chiaristi.
Your work has the same light touch and spontaneity of those artists.
Bravo!

I know I start every comment of my blog with a thanks, but everyone is so kind. I wish I was showing more interesting work, but I want to save most of that until my children's book finds a publisher. So for now I will continue to show my studies.

Annie how was italy? Did you and Colin do any art while there?

Hans, some people say one pastel is better than another, but I believe what every suits your hand and taste is the best pastel for you. I happen to like and use nupastels, but many people find them to hard.

Gabriele thanks for introducing me to the Chiaristi Painters. When I was in Italy I was looking for italian impressionists, but could not find any. The Italians seemed to showcase their magnificent renaissance artistic heritage (rightly so), and I was not familiar enough with Italy or it's language to search out art from the 18th 19th and 20th centuries. Thank you.

Thanks for the tip Noah:) I'll go out and explore to find the pastels that suits me best, but will definitely check out nupastels.

Thanks again and have a great day:)
