Italy pastels

Inspired by James Robertson's recent trip to Italy (see link at right) as well as Colin and Annie Fix's up coming trip to Italy (also see links to right), I decided to post some of the pastels I did while I was there with my wife last year. I really want to go back it is so beautiful.

Noah these are unreal. They really bring me back there, and for that, I thank you. I hope to post some photos soon, so maybe I'll pay it back.
Amazing stuff man.
Cheers.

Beautiful. I agree, they'd be awesome bookmarks.

I especially like the one on the bottom, with the water...

Very nice Noah! Did Lori do some art while you guys were there as well? That must have been very fun and romantic. Colin and I are very excited to go there and draw too.

Beautiful work!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I didn't even realize they were all vertical compositions until I published the post. Annie, yes Lori did some pastels as well, it really was a lot of fun. Part of our trip was a walking tour through Tuscany and we stopped at least once a day to do a small pastel and eat lunch. It was great fun and I you and Conlin have a blast.

Just great. The long narrow format is interesting- kind of Japanese woodprint-like.

Those are such beautiful pastels. You really capture the light and the mood of the locations you painted. It feels very Italian.

I give you props for having enough dedication to actually make pastel paintings on vacation. I find it enough work to just take the time to try to take good photos. I'm inspired to try some art on my next vacation now.

These pastel pieces are amazing...actually all your pieces are amazing. Pastels used to be my favorite medium but I got turned on to watercolors from enrico and ronnie bout' a year ago. But after seeing your mini carrying case and set up, I want to get back to more pastels (and not having to wait until a big Chalk Art Event). Thanks for the inspiration.
